Node Virtualization Methodology for Cluster Systems

摘要

It is difficult to decide the optimum allocation of resources for each application on the cluster system. In a large-scale cluster system, it is apprehended that administration cost is increasing. This paper proposes and describes the methodology of node virtualization for cluster system. According to this methodology, we can separate between real computing nodes and virtual nodes that are operated by application, and we can conceal the dynamic node structure changes and the node failure. In addition, it is possible to assign resources flexibly, by controlling the number of nodes, which are allocated to one application.
