Medial dispersion fiber (MDF) which has medial dispersion of SMF and DSF and transmission line consisted of MDF

We have developed new type of optical fiber (Medial Dispersion Fiber; MDF) which have medial dispersion of NZ-DSF and SMF (RDF). Dispersion flatness could be achieved by connecting Positive-MDF and Negative-MDF. The accumulated dispersion of MDF-pair was suppressed in a small level compared to another dispersion management line. Aeff value of P-MDF and N-MDF is 100μm{sup}2 and 40/μm{sup}2 each. Total equivalent Aeff is about 70μm{sup}2.
