All political carreers end in failure, empires rise then fall and technologies become outmoded. Yet you have to admit that lead-acid technology is remarkably robust and reigns supreme in so many applications. This writer has always taken the view that one should never be complacent about how long this will remain so and continuous improvement should be the order of the day.
