摘要

Charge times and charging methods are key for EV uptake. In the near term, the chance of inductive charging replacing conductive charging remains slim. A good reason for this is Tesla introducing its 120KW supercharging points in the USA, which offer faster re-charging times than inductive methods can currently deliver. But this is public charging. Most OEMs— of which Germany can count Daimler, BMW, Volkswagen and Audi, while in Japan Nissan and across the ocean America's Ford and GM are working on inductive charging technologies— are focusing on charging taking place in a car owner's garage. A garage has a typical 3.6KW supply and that will be factored into charging rates.
