A number of firms around the globe have embraced Ultracapacitors, with original equipment manufacturers signing deals to add them to their vehicles. The biggest, arguably, was General Motors' decision to use an ultracapacitor- based voltage stabilisation system (VSS) in its stop-start system. The VSS, developed by Continental Automotive Systems and supplied by Maxwell Technologies, will be a standard feature on most Cadillac ATS and CTS vehicles.
