摘要

The Beacon Community Cooperative Agreement Program was established through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This program provides federal funding to recipient communities for the deployment and strengthening of HIT infrastructure and exchange capabilities between and among care providers. Beacon Communities are recognized as being at the cutting edge of electronic health record adoption and health information exchange; the Beacon grants support awardees to create, adopt, and share new levels of sustainable healthcare quality and efficiency.
