Control of pore structure of mesoporous smectite-type materials containing cobalt cations in octahedral sheets

Mesoporous smectite-type materials are prepared from water glass and cobalt chloride by hydrothermal treatment and calcination at 823 K without template materials. The mesopore size is enlarged by adding dimethyldistearyl ammonium chloride after the hydrothermal treatment.
