摘要

Applications of carbon fiber (CF) sheet as areinforcing material to reinforced concrete (RC) structures havebeen progressed because of its light-weight, high strength, highdurability and simplification of work. In this study, in order toquantify shear reinforcing effects of the sheet for RC members,RC beams strengthened with the sheet were tested underantisymmetric flexural loading. A formula for evaluatingultimate strength in shear of the beams was presented based onthe plastic analysis of truss and arch mechanisms after theDesign Guideline of AU, and the experimental results wereanalytically investigated.As the results, it was shown that influences of bondingprocedures of the sheet on the ultimate strength in shearof the beams can be described with accuracy by the present analysis.
