Cerianthids (Anthozoa, Cnidaria) from Bengual Upwelling region. 3. Botrucnidifer shtokmani

The new cerianthid Botrucnidifer shtokmani from Bengual upwelling (Namibian coast) is described. The cnidom and some features of microscopic anatomy of the new species are discussed. Botrucnidifer shtokmani Molodtsova differs from the type and singlespecies of the genus, B. norvegicus Carlgren 1912, by the presence of labial tentacles at the chambers adjacent to the directive chamber, similar structure of M and m-mesenteries, and the absence of botrucnids on macrocnemes of the first and second metamesentery quartets and on the second pair of protomesenteries. The presence of eraspedonems within the ciliary tract on all mesenteries, except directives, in adults distinguishes this species from the above mentioned species as well as the fact that none of mesenteries reach the aboral pole of the gastral cavity.
