A key to identifying the Dracunculomyia species from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan is given. Specific features of their biology, distribution, morphology and trophic relations are described. Six species, previously included into the genus Rhopalomyia, are transferred to the genus Dracunculomyia. The species D. campestris, D. japonica, D. pseudofoliorum, D. simulans are referred to the nominative subgenus; D. flavipalpis and D. simultanea to Absinthomyia.
