A study on policy-based networking for large-scale network

We propose the hierarchical Policy Server (PS) coordination method to establish an end-to-end path that guarantees QoS in a large-scale network. In a large-scale network, coordination among multiple PSs is necessary to decrease status information stored in a PS and to distribute the load on a PS. Moreover, PSs must collect the status information of a network to setup an end-to-end QoS path. Therefore, we propose the hierarchical PS coordination method to collect the information efficiently and to decrease both the load and the amount of information to be stored. We give the results of a simulation that confirms the effectiveness of our proposed method.
