摘要

Recently, a variety of traffic such as audio or video with different characteristics has been more transmitted on the Internet, and the demands for offering Quality of Service (QoS) such as bandwidth or delay bounds in part of Service Level Agreement (SLA) are increasing. To this end, we have proposed an efficient packet scheduling algorithm called "Elastic Weighted Round Robin" or EWRR, and shown analysis and evaluation of its performance by simulation. On the other hand, Differentiated Services (Diffserv) has been proposed in IETF to categorize different types of traffic into different classes. In this paper, we report on implementation of the proposed algorithm as a scheduler for a Diffserv router, and show performance results of its bandwidth assignment, delay and packet loss properties on this router. We also evaluate jitter performance for burst traffic and discuss its effectiveness by comparing it with a related scheduling algorithm called Deficit Round Robin.
