摘要

It is believed that onboard processing and switching is a promising research direction in satellite communications. Unfortunately, it is too complicated to implement onboard ATM or IP switching similar to the terrestrial network, owning to the resource limitations of the satellites. In this paper we propose a switching scheme based on digital cross connect equipment to support backbone satellite switching. The performance of the digital cross connect system is simulated by Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) as well as the conclusions are drawn.
