An effect of gaze-point expanding method in an eye-gaze communication system

摘要

We have developed eye-gaze AAC system for the people with severe physical disabilities (e.g. progressive muscular dystrophy amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, etc.). With this system the user doesn't have to wear sensors or devices to measure eye movement. In this report we describe about new delaying method in gazing condition. We categorize eye movement in three conditions (moving, before (nearly) gazing, gazing) and expand gazing point wider in gazing condition. As a gazing point becomes wider in gazing condition, the user can pick up easily any characters without mistake and the system does not need high resolution to measure accurately witch character the user gazing.
