Knowledge engineering toward new era

摘要

This paper has been prepared as a discussion material for "Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering in 21st Century". In order to be understandable also for subscribers of the proceeding, most of authors' opinion has been included. In the first place, a hierarchically expanding network model has been discussed. It explains most of Software Engineering issues which has been done on an empirical basis in the industry, which have been treated on an empirical basis, it is quite different from conventional Artificial Intelligence. In the next, a hierarchical work process model case is discussed. It has now reached at a level, that a research model "Automatic design learning human designer" has begun to work. Based on these, authors believe that a new Knowledge Engineering in 21st century appears, which is able to treat both Product and Process aspects.
