Modification Design and Operation Results of Boiler for Repowering of Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc. Chita Units No.1 & &2

Attention has been drawn to using the combined cycle in existing steam power plants and repowering gas turbines as an effective power generation system capable of increasing power output and improving plant efficiency. For repowering it is necessary to pay attention to many aspects, which is different from usual steam power plants in the modification of existing boilers. The authors have designed and developed a system for modification of the existing boiler in a gas turbine exhaust gas re-combustion combined cycle project for repowering in Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. Chita units No.1 &2. In this report, the design descriptions and the successful operation results of this boiler are described.
