摘要

The reliability of the three point bending test for monolithic refractories with coarse aggregates was discussed. This is based on the results of an investigation of the relation between the three point bending test for refractory using test pieces in a standard brick shape test piece and the four point bending test for construction concrete using a standardized test piece. The Weibull plot of the strength in three point bending test converted into a value corresponding to a four point bending test on the basis of the effective volume overlayed on the Weibull plot of the data obtained by the four point bending test. The conversion of the three point bending strength data into equivalent four point bending strength revealed that the three point bending test was a simple and highly reliable bending test suitable for monolithic refractories with coarse aggregates.
