The present paper outlines the experimental investigation of the dynamic response of air traffic control tower of Yangyang international airport in Korea, and describes the phase division control algorithm developed for the serviceability of control tower. Active mass damper (AMD) is adopted as vibration control device in order to enhance the serviceability of control tower. Due to the limitation of the space in 13th floor where AMD is installed, we choose a possible small size control device with maximum stroke25cm, and minimize a maximum allowable control force as low as we can. For the enhancement of the serviceability of control tower, we developed a phase division control algorithm, which satisfy the constraint condition of structural control and keep the vibration reduction efficiency at the same time.
