A shape-control redesign at Ispat Inland aims at faster installation and smooth transition based on open architecture.In East Chicage. IN, Ispat Inland is carrying out a makeover of the shape-control systems on two tandem cold mills-one is an 80-in. line and the other runs 56-in. wide-and on two temper mills that follow them. Their existing control packages date to 1984 and 1988, respectively.
