An MMSE receiver based on DFT domain channel estimation in orthogonal frequency division multiplex SS communication

It has been proposed[1]～[3] such a communication system that uses quasi-synchronous orthogonal frequency multiplex for the elimination of multi-access interference and transmits plural information bits by parallel SS communication for the enhancement of frequency utilization efficiency. In this paper, we propose an MMSE receiver construction method for such a system based on DFT domain channel estimation using the pilot responses and analyze the suitable spreading codes both for pilot and data signals which minimize the effect of channel estimation error due to the transmission noise. It is confirmed by computer simulations that the BER characteristics are greatly improved by properly selecting the spreading codes.
