摘要

A floating building consists of a floating structure and a superstructure. The floating structure, which supports the superstructure exhibits elastic behavior when subjected to wave. Also, the added mass depends on the vibration modal shapes of the floating structure. When a floating building is analyzed it is assumed to be an elastic body. At this time, the analysis should consider the added mass that results from the vibration modal shape. Therefore, we propose a simple equation for calculating the added mass through an experiment that uses elastic plate models and a theoretical method that is based on the kinetic energy of the velocity potential of a water particle around an elastic plate. This paper discusses a method of incorporating the proposed equation into the wave response analysis of a floating building by means of the modal analysis.
