Neutron irradiation effects on mechanical and magnetic properties of pre-deformed iron-based model alloys

Irradiation embrittlement of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steels in ageing nuclear power plants is an important issue from safety viewpoints. In order to diagnose the degradation, there is a need to develop suitable non-destructive evaluation (NDE) techniques. As the RPV steels are iron based alloys, magnetic measurement is one of the candidates.
