Corrosion and corrosion-mechanical durability of a new austenitic high-nitrogen 12X18Aг18III steel for retaining rings of turbogenerators have been investigated in the solution containing chlorides and copper (II) cations. A significant decrease in corrosion durability of steel (P equals 0.52...1.50 mm/year) and its resistance to stress corrosion cracking and corrosion fatigue in CuCl_2 solution have been found. The coefficients of line sections of kinetic diagrams of fatigue for 12X18Aг18III steel in air of 40 percent humidity in 22 percent NaCl and 22 percent CuCl_2 solutions have been calculated.
