A dual-band dual-polarized microstrip antenna array for an advanced multi-function radio function concept (AMRFC) radar application operating at S and X-band is proposed. To allow similar scan ranges for both bands, the S-band elements are selected as perforated patches to enable the placement of the X-band elements within them. The simulated bandwidth (VSWR ≤ 2) of the prototype array are 20% and 30.7% for the S- and X-band, respectively. The simulated isolation between the two orthogonal polarizations for both bands is better than 15 dB. The simulated cross-polarization level is less than -18 dB for the S-band and less than -21.7 dB for the X-band.
