摘要

The purpose of this paper is to investigate cavity-backed slot antenna elements operating at the frequency of 5.8 GHz. They are used as an element of the microwave energy transmission antenna system in the space solar power satellite (SSPS) recently discussed in Japan. Our previous works were related to the antenna elements operating at the frequency of 2.45 GHz. First we determine geometries and dimension of the antenna element satisfying the system demands. Then we propose two types of cavity-backed slot antenna element. The antenna parameters realizing the impedance matching are presented. Finally, it is concluded that the effective antenna elements and the design method are developed for SSPS.
