摘要

The new high-strength steel H-SA700 has a minimum specified tensile strength of 780 MPa. A novel built-up weld-free column, composed of H-SA700 steel plates is proposed. Three column specimens are tested in static cyclic loading to investigate the flexural performance of the proposed H-SA700 column. One uses H-SA700 steel with a standard bolt arrangement, another is a pilot column using mild steel, and the last uses H-SA700 steel but with an enlarged bolt pitch. Column flexural behavior, such as elastic section stiffness, yield bending moment, overstrength and plasticity around column end, is investigated.
