摘要

Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RF) is a rare disease characterized by fibro-inflammatory tissue, typically surrounding the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries. It can extend into the retroperitoneum thereby possibly entrapping and obstructing surrounding structures, most commonly the ureters. The abdominal aorta can be enlarged leading to the classification of RF with or without abdominal aortic aneurysm. The classic form usually presents without aneurysm of the abdominal aorta.Ormond's disease is the idiopathic form of the retroperitoneal fibrosis (IRF), and accounts for more than two thirds of cases. Secondary manifestations of retroperitoneal fibrosis can be triggered through drugs as well as neoplasms, infections or radiotherapy (10). IRF is thought to progress trough two stages:an initial inflammatory reaction and progressive fibrosis.
