In the article the results of the analysis of the condition of measurements in the field of production of evolvent tooth gears are indicated. Is shown, that for today there are organizational, scientific and technical and nonnative premises forcreation of standard basis of a new generation for a measurement of geometric parameters of evolvent tooth gears, ensuring reproduction and transfer of a size of a unit of length in the field of evolvent of surfaces for means of measurements of thevariety of all parameters characterizing a kinematic acyracy smoothness of work, contact of surfaces and lateral clearance.
