At VNIIM by the name of D. I. Mendeleyev the research has been carried the main feature of which has been a series of interlaboratory comparisions of relevant combustion heat values obtained by two methods: the direct calorimetric method andindirect (gas chromatograhy + calculation) method. Good agreement has been obtained between the two methods under conditions where the natural gas samples were subjected to preliminary dehydratation using desicators. The cause of the discrepancies in theresults is the absence of due control of the humidity of the natural gas.
