There is developed the hydraulic generator of mechanical impulses (GMI) for working of surfaces by static-pulse plastic deformation. Basic regimes of its functioning are determined. The models describing GMI working characteristics are obtained. The influence of generic parameters on frequency and energy of shock pulses are defined.
