摘要

The IHI flue gas desulfurization system was completed for a new 1000 MW coal-fired thermal powerplant in July 1997. To reduce the required site area and equipment, and simplify process and controlsystem, simultaneous SO{sub}2 and particulates removal with the forced oxidation system was used.The system is equipped with a single 1000 MW capacity absorber which is the largest spray typetower ever built in the world. Executive control for the recirculating pumps of the absorber andprocess calculation are used, which provides energy and labor saving operation. The system is nowoperating very smoothly, achieving the desired design performance and 100% availability has beenmaintained so far.
