Development of a space (micro-gravity) experiment furnace for the material processing experiments requires thermal analysis to verify the furnace performance. Micro-gravity is a peculiar environment and difficult to simulate by tests on the ground. Thermal analysis will help analyze the effect on thermal conductivity and Marangoni convection caused by the interfacial force, but these phenomena are hard to verify completely. Two examples of thermal analysis of the space experiment furnaces (gradient heating furnace and large isothermal furnace) recently simulated are described.
