Aim: To compare OCT parameters of optic disc (ONH) and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) in normal, glaucoma suspect and early glaucomatous eyes and to determine the parameters presenting the best ability to differentiate between normal and glaucoma suspect eyes. Methods: One hundred seven glaucoma suspect eyes (including ocular hypertensive and pre-perimetric glaucomatous eyes), 62 early glaucomatous eyes and 116 eyes of age-matched normal volunteers were enrolled into the study. All the subjects underwent complete eye examination, standard automated perimetry, optic disc photography and OCT imaging. Peripapillary Fast RNFL Thickness scans using 3.4 diameter centered on the optic disc and Fast Optic Disc scans were performed with Stratus OCT. The areas under the ROC curves (AUCs) were calculated and compared between normal and glaucoma suspect groups. The differences in average and regional RNFL thickness, several RNFL ratios, and ONH parameters were analyzed-between the groups.
