The problems of developing automated systems for electric power monitoring and accounting are discussed. The urgency of organizing stringent energy account is emphasized; the drawbacks of existing accounting systems are revealed; the requirements to accounting systems being developed are formulated. The opportunity of applying the domestic Trace Mode software package of AdAstra Research Group to modern power monitoring and accounting systems is demonstrated.
