Fast handover method in multi-casting communication systems using OFDM

In the road to vehicles communications of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems), handover service is necessary in which a receiver on the vehicle changes a carrier frequency quickly when a vehicle passes through cells. This paper proposes a new handover method and a Sub-Carrier Control (SCC) method in Multi-Casting Communication Systems. In the handover method, a receiver on the vehicle does not change the channel by using maximal ratio combining in OFDM. The SCC method changes the weight factor of each sub-carrier transmitted from two antennas to avoid plunge of the received signal. We show the performance of the proposed handover method and efficiency of SCC in Multi-Casting Communication Systems.
