Latest development of series load resonant zero current soft commutation high-frequency inverter with pulse density modulation scheme for induction-heated toner fixing rolling drum
This paper presents a novel prototype of series load resonant ZCS-PDM controlled half-bridge high frequency inverter using IGET power module for induction-heated toner fixing roller in copy and printing machines. The steady-state operating principle of this high frequency inverter in continuous resonant current mode and their unique features of this high frequency soft switching inverter with two ZCS-assisted lossless inductor snubbers in series with each IGET are presented, which can efficiently achieve zero current soft commutation at the on-off switching points for a widely specified power regulation range. The operating performances of high frequency ZCS-PDM inverter suitable for the consumer power electronic applications are evaluated with illustrative example and discussed on the basis of the computer simulation results and the experimental ones from a practical point of view.
