CDV for upstream traffic on ATM-PON

摘要

The ATM-PON (ATM-based Passive Optical Network) technology is one of the solutions to realize high speed and oost effective communication. DBA(Dynamic Bandwidth Assignment), Cell scheduling function(WRR, HOL, and so on) provide traffic control for the upstreams. The DBA is the method to assign bandwidth dynamically according to each subscriber's traffic condition, and its media access control technology. The cell scheduling function is used to accommodate each ATC/QoS traffic. When these functions are applied, because CDV occurs in the upstream traffic, CDVT for UPC parameter need to be decided. In this paper, we report the CDV occurrence mechanism and the method of CDV value calculation.
