OAO Podolsky Cement/Podolsky Cement Increases its Cement Production

In 2002, Podolsky Cement had a successful year. They produced 1.007 Mt cement, which was 22.7 percent more than in the previous year. The average pay of the staff went up by 39.2 percent. The plant has two state-of-the-art packing lines. One of them consists of two parts: a Haver & Becker carousel-type packing for 50 and 25-kg bags, and the other is a Beumer pallet-packer and packet-packer, which packs pallets and packets in shrinkable film. The capacity of the line is 70 t/h. The second 50 t/h packing line was supplied by F. L. Smidth. In 2002 the plant completed reconstruction of vehicle scales involving the installation of BMH Claudius peters GmbH loading equipment. The railway scales are now under the same kind of reconstruction. OAO Podolsky Cement produces a wide range of cements: general-purpose construction cements, both plain and with slag added, of brands 500 and 400, sulphate-resistant, road and oil-well cements. The investigations conducted in Building Structures Research Institute (Kiev) confirmed high frost-resistance (300 cycles) and sulphate resistance of the cement, and that made it possible to have the road and sulphate resistant cements certified. The have mastered the production of high-quality light oil-well cement on the base of Transcarpathian ceolites.
