We have studied carbohydrate metabolism and body weght of young rats (2 month-old) tinting pre- and early postnatal development which were undergone to undernutrition and intake of 2,5% NaCl solution. In the ratlings, born by rats given to drink 2,5% NaCl solution, blood glucose level increases, Glucose-6-phosphatase activity and intensity of gluconeogenesis in the liver decrease. Body weght of the two-month-old rats decreased compared to control animals. In the rats, fed by lactating females undergone the same influences, blood glucose concentration increases, glucose-6-phosphatase activity increases to a relatively less extent and liver gluconeogenesis intensity is not altered although liver glycogen content in creased 4--6 fold.
