The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) launched its first air strikes in support of Operation 'Inherent Resolve' (OIR) from the eastern Mediterranean Sea on June 28, Aircraft from carrier air wing CVW-3 conducted strikes against the socalled Islamic State (IS) in both Libya and Syria.
