We have developed a highly reliable, high-performance digital controlled transformerless inverter for photovoltaic power generating systems. This inverter utilizes a 32bit RISC (Reduced instruction set computer) microcomputer for inverter control circuits and IGBTs for switching power devices. This microcomputer has many features as high speed, high performance, etc. These features make it possible to achieve a higher efficiency, smaller size and lighter weight in designing an inverter. Therefore, this inverter is suitable for distributed power system, especially for interactive applications.
