Mass selection and root yield of true seed populations in sweet potato.

摘要

Selection was performed for root skin colour, germination at low temperatures, vine diameter and taproot diameter and proved effective. Root yields obtained by transplanting vines grown from true seed populations was 70-78% compared to the conventionally cultivated control. A beta-amylase null population was also developed. Yields of true seeds obtained by open pollinating among clones was 144 seeds per m2.
