摘要

The effects were examined of soil moisture on the growth of seedlings of Thujopsis dolabrata var. hondai, Cryptomeria japonica and Abies sachalinensis. The conditions under which T. dolabrata obtained its maximum height growth were the same as thosefor C. japonica. A. sachalinensis showed greater height growth under drier conditions than did the other two species. T. dolabrata and C. japonica had a higher resistance to flooding than did A. sachalinensis with respect to the survival of seedlings, the development of adventitious roots and overgrowth at the bottoms of stems in wet conditions. The water relations parameters of the three species showed that C. japonica and A. sachalinensis had a higher resistance to drought than did T. dolabrata. Accordingly, the most suitable sites for T. dolabrata may be the same as those for C. japonica, but these sites may be too wet for the growth of A. sachalinensis.
