Community Forestry in Cambodia Contemporary Indigenous Resource Management and Behavioral Change in Yak Poey

摘要

In the northeastern region of Cambodia, where the majority of population are indigenous, swidden farming and NTFPs collection is practiced widely. However, due to the recent social and economical change, there is a need of knowledge of the contemporary indigenous resource management and behavioral change of people. Here an attempt is made to answer the following questions: What effect of development in the area? How is affect people's perception and behavior? If it does. What kind of behavior? This paper will analyze the situation from three different angles. They are (l)the current local knowledge which simply refer to the practice of swidden and NTFPs collection practice, (2)the regional development activities and its impacts, (3)the people perception and possible new horn behavior.
