摘要

In this research, mass concrete specimens with different three kinds of size are applied to examine the use of the maturity method which is one of the non-destructive test methods for estimating concrete strength. The temperature distribution in concrete which is necessary for the maturity method is calculated by a three-dimensional finite element method. Compressive strength which is estimated by using the calculated temperature is corresponding to compressive strength of standard cured test piece. However, compressive strength of cores that are extracted from each mass concrete specimen at age 56 days is not corresponding to the calculated compressive strength. To correspond the calculated compressive strength to core strength, it is necessary to multiply the strength reducing coefficient into the calculated strength. And this coefficient decreases with the volume of mass concrete specimen increasing.
