Intra-specific variations of Dendranthema boreale.

Dendranthema boreale syn. Chrysanthemum boreale, is a wild chrysanthemum distributed in Japan, Korea Republic and China. There were considerable variations in leaf and flower morphology among the 12 individuals collected from its habitat in Japan. The genotypes showed early flowering under natural conditions, while it flowered earlier under a 10-h photoperiod in the greenhouse. PCR-RFLP analysis of the chloroplast DNA gene trnK showed that this species could be divided into 2 groups.
