The Food and Farming Information Service: its history, present achievements and future.

The Food and Farming Information Service seeks to promote an understanding of agriculture amongst younger generations in the UK. As an independent public relations vehicle for a traditionally dispersed industry the service has particular value in presenting a united image. Individuals and schools writing to the service receive a variety of materials produced by all sectors. At the end of the service's first three year trial period the industry will review its achievements and consider its future role. Before considering the present activities of the service the paper looks at the development of the organization and its predecessor, the Association of Agriculture, which was founded in 1947.
