White clover - its present role and future prospects in British grassland farming.

The present role of white clover [Trifolium repens] in the UK is reviewed in relation to its management, productivity and value for livestock, and the advantages and disadvantages for agriculture and the environment. Comparisons are drawn with othertemperate countries and the implications for an increased role for white clover are considered.
