Application of Alkali-Resisting High-Alumina Burned Brick to Industrial Waste Incinerators

摘要

The main factors currently contributing to the damage of alumina-silica system brick in industrial waste incinerators are alkaline attack, thermal spalling and slag corrosion. To cope with these damage factors, it is possible to think that the best policy toward improving durability of a lining material is to choose a suitable value of total alumina content (Al_2O_3 = 70 mass%), to densify the microstructure (low porosity) and to select a desirable matrix composition and structure where the corrosion reaction originates". The authors applied alkali-resisting high-alumina burned brick possessing the above mentioned characteristics to field incinerators and obtained a desirable result. This paper reports the refractory performance in these tests.
