摘要

Productivity of sinter plant is related to improved sinter yield and vertical sintering speed. Sinter yield depends mainly on top layer strength of sinter bed. Laboratory investigations have revealed that control of air volume in initial part of sintering results in improvement in top layer strength of sinter. The vertical sintering speed depends on permeability of sinter bed . Based on these theoretical understanding, air flow regime and sinter bed permeability of the Sinter Plant # 2 of DSP have been enhanced. These measures have resulted in higher productivity level of 1.34 t / m2 / hr., increasing from the base level of 1.25 t / m2 / hr. This paper deals with the theoretical aspects and the related improvement measures which have been implemented.
